Brown today announced that his re-election effort continues to gain strength with the announced endorsement of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 650, which represents technical, professional and clerical city workers. In a July 6th letter to the Mayor, Frank Cahill Local 650 PAC Chairman and Michael F. Drennen, Local 650 President stated, “AFSCME Local 650 is proud to endorse your candidacy for Mayor. We look forward to working with you in the future for a better Buffalo.” “I’m honored to receive the endorsement of AFSCME Local 650, which represents our fine and dedicated white-collar city workers,” said Mayor Brown. “Upon taking office as Mayor in 2006, I fought for the working men and women of our city by fulfilling my 2005 campaign pledge to lift the previously state control board-imposed wage freeze for all city employees, which allowed us to increase employee wages, bringing all full-time city employees up to the living wage and negotiated four new union contracts for city employees. We have made great progress over the past 3 ½ years and I am confident Buffalo is moving in the right direction.” In addition to the support of the AFSCME Local 650, Mayor Brown has received the endorsement of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 14, the Buffalo Building & Construction Trades Council, the Western New York Chapter of the Working Families Party, the Erie County Independence Party, the Erie County Conservative Party, the Western New York Hispanic & Friends Association, and the Buffalo Educational Support Team. ### Phone: 939-2368 · Fax: 939-2377 ● Email: info@MayorByronBrown.com |
