Brown today announced that his re-election effort has received the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers & Helpers, Local # 7. In a July 1st letter to the Mayor, Joseph D. Brown, Business Manager-Secretary Treasurer of Boilermakers Local # 7 stated, “Your work for Buffalo and your past support of the rights of the working men and women of this area proves your priorities and those of the members of Boilermakers Local # 7 are one and the same.” “I’m very pleased to earn the endorsement of Boilermakers Local # 7,” said Mayor Brown. “Over the past 3 ½ years since becoming Mayor of Buffalo, I have fought for the working men and women of our city by fulfilling my 2005 campaign pledge to lift the previously state control board-imposed wage freeze for all city employees, which allowed us to increase employee wages, bringing all full-time city employees up to the living wage and negotiated four new union contracts for city employees. We have made great progress over the past 3 ½ years and I am confident Buffalo is moving in the right direction.” In addition to the support of Boilermakers Local # 7, Mayor Brown has received the endorsement of AFSCME Local 650, the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 14, the Buffalo Building & Construction Trades Council, the Western New York Chapter of the Working Families Party, the Erie County Independence Party, the Erie County Conservative Party, the Western New York Hispanic & Friends Association, and the Buffalo Educational Support Team. ### 20 Court Street · Buffalo, New York 14202 Phone: 939-2368 · Fax: 939-2377 ● Email: info@MayorByronBrown.com |
