- Sep-04-2009 — In a front page endorsement in its September 2nd edition, the paper wrote, “Mayor Brown has created a solid foundation for moving Buffalo forward and he has built upon the opportunities that will make the city stronger and safer. The South Buffalo News believes very strongly that Mayor Brown deserves another term as Mayor of Buffalo.”

- Aug-24-2009 — Frank Palombaro, Legislative Chairman of United Steelworkers, District 4, wrote in a August 20th letter to Mayor Brown, “The United Steelworkers District 4 Legislative committee is pleased to announce our official endorsement of your re-election as the Mayor of the City of Buffalo. The Steelworkers believe you share our core values of family, jobs and community and will support the issues of importance to labor and all working men and women throughout Western New York.”
