Brown today celebrated the accomplishments of Raven 7, eleven members of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps who have contributed to quality of life issues throughout the City of Buffalo for eight weeks. “Thank you to the members of Raven 7 for supporting our efforts to make city neighborhoods, parks and waterfront cleaner,” said Mayor Brown. “For eight weeks, hardworking AmeriCorps members from across the nation have experienced our great city and helped to improve it. I am grateful for the extent of their service to our community, from infrastructure and environment improvements to afterschool and food distribution programs.” Raven 7 participated in waterfront cleanups, park improvements and seven Clean Sweeps, by collaborating with the Mayor’s Impact Team, Clean and Seal, Department of Public Works and other city crews. During their stay in Buffalo, Raven 7 renovated public buildings, homes, athletic fields; planted and developed 10 gardens; cleaned up 15 parks; and upgraded 20 playgrounds. The members of Raven 7 contributed to several community organizations during the past eight weeks, including The Father Belle Center, George C.
