BUFFALO EDUCATION SUPPORT TEAM ENDORSES MAYOR BROWN
1,000-Member Organization Unanimously Endorses Mayor’s Re-Election Bid
BUFFALO – Mayor Byron W. Brown today proudly announced another important endorsement for his re-election effort. The 1,000-member Buffalo Educational Support Team (BEST), representing Teaching Assistants/Teacher Aides employed by the Buffalo Board of Education, informed Mayor Brown by letter that their organization “…has unanimously endorsed you in your re-election bid for the Mayor of the City of Buffalo.”
“It is a great honor to receive the endorsement of the Buffalo Educational Support Team,” said Mayor Brown. “Through initiatives like my annual Summer Reading Program and my Administration’s youth employment programs, I have sought to support and enhance the educational experience of our city’s youth in our public schools. Receiving this endorsement is confirmation that we are making progress in reinforcing the essential educational pursuits of Buffalo youth and I thank the members of the Buffalo Educational Support Team for their confidence in me and my Administration. I look forward to working further to support the critically important efforts of our school district’s Teaching Assistants and Teacher Aides.”
In the endorsement letter received by Mayor Brown, BEST President Ellis Woods stated,” This endorsement highlights your strong commitment to public education and your commitment to providing our children with the facilities and technologies that they need to receive the best education possible.”
Mayor Brown serves as Chair of the Joint Schools Construction Board, created by state statute to oversee a ten-year, $1 billion reconstruction of the city’s public schools infrastructure. The program is currently in Phase 3.
The BEST endorsement is another major endorsement for Mayor Brown after recently receiving the Conservative, Independence and Working Families Party endorsements.
