Brown for re-election as Mayor of Buffalo. “Four years ago the Buffalo Building Trades Council supported Byron Brown in his first run for Mayor of Buffalo because he had a long history of public service standing up for the rights of working families across our region,” said Building Trades President Paul Brown. “During his first term as Mayor of Buffalo, Mayor Brown has continually demonstrated his support for the issues that are important to our members, advocating for job-creating projects and he has always maintained an open line of communication with the Building Trades Council. We are confident Buffalo is moving in the right direction and Mayor Brown deserves a second term to continue the progress his administration has achieved so far.” Mayor Brown continues to receive strong support from a broad range of political parties, labor groups and other important sectors of the community that believe the Mayor has fulfilled his pledge to move Buffalo forward, strengthen its economy, reduce crime and establish greater accountability for the efficient delivery of city services. “I’m again honored to receive the endorsement of the Buffalo Building & Construction Trades Council, which represents thousands of hard-working, dedicated area workers who all want what I have fought for – a stronger city that provides greater opportunity for employment and growth for our residents,” said Mayor Brown. “We are on the right track and have made great strides in turning Buffalo around. With strong investment continuing to move job-creating projects forward, crime declining and the city’s finances as strong as they have been in years, I believe we have created a firm foundation for strong and sustained growth throughout the city.” The Buffalo Building Trades Council is comprised of 18 member unions, including: Asbestos Workers Local 4 of West Seneca; Boilermakers Local 7 of Orchard Park; Bricklayers Local 3 of Buffalo; Carpenters Local 289 of Cheektowaga; Cement Masons Local 111 of North Tonawanda; Electricians Local 41 of Orchard Park; Elevator Constructors Local 14 of Cheektowaga; Ironworkers Local 6 of West Seneca; Laborers Local 210 of Cheektowaga; Millwrights Local 1163 of Western New York; Operating Engineers Local 17 of Hamburg; Painters District Council 4 of Cheektowaga; Plasterers Local 9 of North Tonawanda; U.A.
